Description

The Department of Psychology at Princeton University invites applications for a full-time Research Specialist I or II position. Anticipated start date approximately June – August, 2024. This position could extend for two years upon satisfactory performance after the first year. The position involves conducting research in the research groups of Professors Betsy Levy Paluck and Anuj Shah.

Responsibilities

As part of the lab, the research specialist will assist with different aspects of research, including:

  • Managing communications and lab operations–liaising with research partners, managing lab calendar and meetings
  • Reproducing analyses from the research group’s studies–checking or reproducing code
  • Collecting data from web samples–proficiency with Qualtrics is a priority, and familiarity with HTML/CSS/Javascript/PHP is a plus.
  • Literature reviews–finding and organizing relevant literature
  • Writing IRB applications and interacting with IRB staff
  • Writing and editing papers–proofreading and writing clear descriptions of research processes or analyses in plain English.

The position would involve weekly standing meetings with each PI separately, as well as regular check-ins on progress. We would invite open and regular communication with both faculty and with their students and staff. This would be a highly collaborative and interactive position.
