Description

We're seeking a curious and pragmatic behavioral scientist to contribute significantly to the creation of an innovative digital product. This product aims to assist farmers and financial institutions in identifying, financing, and implementing practices to increase crop yields and mitigate losses from climate change.

You'll lead the application of behavioral change frameworks that enable us to comprehend our users, identify potential barriers to taking action, and propose and test solutions to eliminate these barriers. You'll work closely with the design, engineering, and research and development teams to build user experiences that incorporate the richness of multidisciplinary collaboration.

As a behavioral scientist, you understand that exceptional interventions begin with a profound understanding of people, their circumstances, and their needs.

Responsibilities

  • Apply a behavioral science perspective to the development of our products and services. This could involve the use of behavioral economics, psychology, judgment and decision making, and consumer behavior.
  • Collaborate with the product management and design, engineering, research and development teams in the process of discovery, design and delivery of our products.
  • Conduct mixed-methods research and analysis. This includes meta-analyses, qualitative and quantitative research, interpretation of research findings, and communication of relevant evidence.
  • Support the product and design teams by mapping user journeys and flows, considering the actions we want to encourage.
  • Propose and lead the design of approaches to test hypotheses that lead to behavior change. Maintain a balance between robustness and practicality to achieve business goals and timely delivery of solutions.
  • Generate reusable knowledge, processes, and methodologies to drive team efficiency, scope, and growth as more insights are gathered.

Requirements

This role is suitable for you if you can demonstrate the following:

  • You have a clear understanding of behavioral science and can explain its theoretical concepts. A degree in behavioral economics, psychology, judgment and decision-making, cognitive or social psychology, or consumer behavior, is beneficial.
  • You can demonstrate practical experience in delivering projects or products using behavioral science approaches. This includes applying behavioural change frameworks in real-world settings to impact key project or product metrics.
  • You are fluent in English, both verbally and written. Proficiency in French is a bonus.
  • You possess an entrepreneurial mindset, being resourceful, solutions-oriented, and resilient.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in applied behavioral science in agriculture, financial decision-making (loans, investments), or the climate sphere. These perspectives are extremely valuable as our product intersects these three domains.
