The Institute for Implementation Science in Health Care IfIS is based at the Medical Faculty. Implementation Science is an applied research field dedicated to optimizing the integration of evidence-based practices and research findings into routine practice to improve the quality and effectiveness of health care.

The research group of Prof. Lauren Clack Implementation Science in Health Care offers a Postdoctoral position in Implementation Science with involvement primarily in the following two research projects:

1) The Implementation Science work package of the EU Horizon 2020 Framework project NeoIPC. The objective of the project is to establish innovative approaches for optimal infection prevention of resistant bacteria in Neonatal Intensive Care Units by integrating clinical research, implementation science and surveillance.

2) The Citizen Science and Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) work package of the ITINERARE project, a University Research Priority Program (URPP) focused on translational research for rare diseases.

Responsibilities

  • Various research project activities
  • Collaboratively develop and build on the group's research strategy and define key areas of future implementation science research
  • Plan, coordinate and carry out implementation science research projects
  • Conduct literature reviews and synthesize scientific content
  • Supervise and support graduate students
  • Prepare applications for competitive research funding
  • Further develop your own research profile

Requirements

  • PhD in implementation science, health services research, public health, psychology, health economics, behavioural science or related field. Academic clinicians will also be considered
  • Sound knowledge of empirical methods and advanced statistics
  • Excellent computer application knowledge (MS Office, SPSS, R)
  • Experience with qualitative data management software (e.g., MAXQDA) is an advantage
  • Emerging track record of high-quality research publications, conference papers
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, excellent oral and written communication and effective interprofessional skills
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain research partnerships
  • Highly motivated to take a leadership role in a research group
  • Fluent in English, working proficiency in German
  • Strong interest in keeping up with emerging trends and best practices in implementation science
  • Self-motivated and comfortable taking initiative
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and support undergraduate students
  • Experience in preparing applications for competitive research funding (preferred)
